About the Company
Our client is a leading player within the IT components and ITAD sector and circular economy sector, providing secure lifecycle management solutions for enterprise technology assets. As part of its continued expansion across Asia, the business is seeking a commercially driven Procurement Director - ITAD - Asia to lead sourcing and acquisition strategies for used and refurbished IT equipment.
This is a strategic leadership role responsible for building procurement capabilities, developing supplier partnerships, and securing a sustainable supply of secondary-market technology products across the region.
The Opportunity
Reporting to senior leadership, you will own procurement strategy and supplier engagement for a diverse portfolio of IT assets, including laptops, desktops, servers, networking equipment, mobile devices, and data center hardware. You will play a critical role in driving sourcing excellence, securing inventory pipelines, and maximizing profitability within a fast-paced trading and refurbishment environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and execute regional procurement strategies for secondary-market IT assets across Asia.
- Build, manage, and expand relationships with corporate enterprises, ITAD providers, OEMs, distributors, leasing companies, asset recovery firms, and channel partners.
- Lead sourcing activities for end-of-life, surplus, retired, and decommissioned IT equipment.
- Negotiate complex commercial agreements, pricing structures, and long-term supply arrangements.
- Identify new procurement channels and emerging supply opportunities across regional markets.
- Partner closely with sales, refurbishment, logistics, and operations teams to align sourcing priorities with market demand.
- Analyze market dynamics, pricing trends, product availability, and customer requirements to optimize purchasing decisions.
- Implement procurement governance, supplier performance metrics, and risk management practices.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a growing regional procurement team.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across sourcing, inventory management, and supplier management processes.
- Support M&A evaluations, strategic partnerships, and business expansion initiatives where applicable.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Technology, or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of procurement, sourcing, trading, asset recovery, ITAD, reverse logistics, electronics recycling, or related experience.
- Proven leadership experience managing regional procurement operations across Asia.
- Deep understanding of secondary-market IT products, refurbished technology, hardware lifecycle management, or IT asset recovery.
- Strong commercial negotiation and supplier management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build strategic sourcing programs and procurement frameworks.
- Experience managing large-scale supplier networks across China, Southeast Asia, India, Japan, and/or Korea.
- Excellent analytical, financial, and market intelligence capabilities.
- Ability to thrive in a highly entrepreneurial and fast-moving environment.
- Fluent English and Mandarin Chinese is a must.
