About the Role
We are partnering with a leading biotechnology company in Leipzig seeking a Customs, Import & Export Specialist to join their growing team. This role is critical in ensuring smooth international trade operations and compliance with customs regulations for highly regulated biotech products.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage customs clearance for imports and exports across EU and global markets.
- Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and biotech-specific requirements.
- Prepare and review shipping documentation (commercial invoices, customs declarations, packing lists).
- Collaborate with freight forwarders, customs authorities, and internal teams.
- Optimize logistics processes to reduce lead times and costs.
- Maintain accurate records for audits and regulatory reporting.
Requirements
- Proven experience in customs, import/export operations (pharma or biotech preferred).
- Strong knowledge of EU customs regulations, Incoterms, and trade compliance.
- Proficiency in SAP or similar ERP systems.
- Excellent communication skills in English and German.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
