Summary: A luxury build-to-rent residential construction company is seeking a Director of Purchasing to join the team in Dallas, Texas. This role is ideal for director-level professionals with a strong background in procurement and a familiarity with fast-paced, commercial construction environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and monitor base house costs for respective markets/projects
- Ensure all vendor contracts and insurance documents are compliant
- Lead all change order pricing and documentation efforts to completion within 7 business days
- Assist in developing policies related to Cost Control/Reduction alongside the Director of Construction
- Identify and implement cost-saving techniques, materials, and procedures
- Recruit and train talented purchasing professionals
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Construction Management, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred; OR equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- At least five (5) years of experience in purchasing within a construction setting, with at least 3 years of experience in a director level role
- Proficiency in construction-related software applications such as Brix and BuildPro
- Proven ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines; often with frequent interruptions and changing circumstances in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment
- Proven ability to recruit and train a highly effective purchasing department
