OEM Procurement Manager
We are supporting a privately held energy infrastructure developer, owner, and operator on their search for a Procurement Manager, OEM. This role sits on the owner's team and is responsible for leading the sourcing and commercial execution of major power generation equipment and long‑lead high voltage/medium voltage electrical equipment for large‑scale, capital‑intensive energy projects. The Procurement Manager will drive OEM engagement strategy, negotiate complex Equipment Supply Agreements (ESAs), Long Term Service Agreements (LTSAs), and Reservation Agreements, and ensure alignment across cost, schedule, and risk while partnering closely with development, engineering, project management, finance, and legal teams across the full project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Lead sourcing, negotiation, and execution of Equipment Supply Agreements (ESAs) for major power generation equipment, including gas turbines, steam turbines, HRSGs, and balance‑of‑plant systems
- Manage procurement of long‑lead HV/MV electrical equipment such as power transformers, circuit breakers, switchgear, and substation components from major OEMs
- Support development and negotiation of Long Term Service Agreements (LTSAs), including maintenance structures, parts supply, performance guarantees, and availability commitments
- Structure and negotiate Reservation Agreements with OEMs to secure manufacturing capacity and mitigate long lead‑time risks
- Develop deep expertise in OEM commercial models, including pricing structures, warranties, guarantees, escalation mechanisms, and risk allocation provisions
- Maintain up‑to‑date market intelligence on OEM lead times, manufacturing capacity constraints, pricing benchmarks, and supply chain dynamics
- Identify supply chain risks and proactively recommend mitigation strategies to protect project cost and schedule
- Lead end‑to‑end RFP/RFQ processes for major equipment packages, including scope development, supplier engagement, proposal evaluation, and commercial analysis
- Coordinate closely with engineering, project management, and finance teams to align technical and commercial evaluations
- Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with development schedules, construction milestones, and overall business objectives
- Support early‑stage project development with equipment cost benchmarking, lead time analysis, and supplier engagement
- Leverage OEM relationships to facilitate early supplier involvement, design collaboration, and improved commercial positioning
- Partner cross‑functionally with internal stakeholders across development, engineering, construction, finance, and legal
- Provide regular procurement updates, risk assessments, lead‑time analyses, and cost forecasts to leadership
- Support internal governance, audit, and reporting requirements across multiple active projects
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, finance, or a related field
- 8+ years of procurement, sourcing, or commercial experience within capital‑intensive, project‑based industries
- Direct experience sourcing power generation and long‑lead HV/MV electrical equipment, including transformers, switchgear, and circuit breakers
- Strong relationships with major OEMs and familiarity with OEM commercial structures and negotiation strategies
- Proven experience negotiating Equipment Supply Agreements (ESAs), including warranties, guarantees, and risk allocation
- Strong understanding of OEM market dynamics, including lead times, pricing trends, and global supply constraints
- Experience within power generation, renewable energy, or infrastructure sectors
Preferred Skills & Attributes
- Experience within an owner/developer or IPP environment
- Familiarity with Reservation Agreements and capacity‑securing strategies in constrained equipment markets
- Ability to solve complex supply chain challenges, particularly around long‑lead equipment availability
- Strong commercial acumen balancing cost, schedule, and risk across large procurement packages
- Excellent negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills, particularly with OEM commercial and technical teams
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast‑paced environment
- Strong Excel and financial analysis capabilities
