Location: Littlefield, Texas
Join a team dedicated to excellence in food safety, quality, and continuous improvement. We are seeking an experienced FSQA Manager to lead all day‑to‑day quality assurance and food safety operations at our Littlefield, TX production facility. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring compliance with company standards, regulatory requirements, and globally recognized food safety certifications.
About the Role
As the FSQA Manager, you will oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of quality and food safety programs across the facility. You will lead a team of QA professionals, manage audits, guide regulatory interactions, and support cross‑functional teams in meeting the highest standards of product integrity. This role also provides oversight for the Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI), SQF Practitioner, and SQF Quality Practitioner.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee quality and food safety programs, including microbiological testing, product release, labeling compliance, and HACCP/GMP adherence.
- Lead daily plant audits, manage nonconforming product, and ensure accurate documentation.
- Serve as the facility's primary contact during FDA, USDA, state, customer, and third‑party audits.
- Manage environmental monitoring, sanitation verification, pest control, and customer complaint investigations.
- Direct and develop QA personnel through hiring, training, coaching, and performance reviews.
- Support root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Oversee laboratory equipment calibration, budget management, and quality reporting.
- Lead the Food Safety and Food Quality Teams and communicate system performance to leadership.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Dairy Science, Microbiology, Food Science, Chemistry, or related field preferred; or equivalent experience in dairy laboratory testing within five of the last ten years.
- Master's degree in a related field is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of USDA, FDA, and state regulations for dairy and/or dietary supplement facilities.
- Expertise in Preventive Controls, HACCP, GFSI/SQF standards, and NSF requirements.
- Skilled in root cause analysis, SPC, policy development, and process improvement.
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision‑making abilities.
- Proficiency in QA systems, data analysis, and reporting.
Required Certifications (or ability to obtain)
- Certified Sampler license (state‑regulated).
- Certified Industry Supervisor (per Pasteurized Milk Ordinance).
- PCQI certification.
- GFSI/SQF Practitioner certification.
Physical Requirements
This position involves regular movement throughout the facility, equipment inspections, and occasional lifting of up to 56 pounds, along with the ability to work with laboratory instruments and office technology.
