Maintenance Engineer
A leading global supplier of specialty ingredients and formulations is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join their team at a key manufacturing facility in Gurnee, IL. This role is critical to ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of plant operations in a 24/7 production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and perform inspections, routine maintenance, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems and equipment.
- Lead root cause analysis and develop action plans for equipment failures.
- Oversee repairs and maintenance of pumps, gear reducers, seals, bearings, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, blowers, and conveyors.
- Manage contractor work, permitting, and compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Support the Management of Change (MOC) process and ensure adherence to PSM standards.
- Provide technical training and support to maintenance staff; develop and update maintenance procedures.
- Collaborate with parts and procurement teams to manage inventory of critical supplies and equipment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a maintenance engineering role, ideally within a chemical manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of industrial systems including pumps, heat exchangers, filtration, boilers, chillers, HVAC, and electrical/plumbing systems.
- Familiarity with EPA and OSHA regulations and hazardous materials handling.
- Proficient in reading system schematics and using Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
