Job Title: Director of Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP)

A top company in the Food and Beverage industry is seeking a strategic and experienced Director of Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) to lead their integrated planning efforts and drive alignment between sales, operations, and other key functions.
You will be responsible for leading the development and execution of their Sales and Operations Planning process to ensure alignment of demand, supply, and inventory strategies with overall business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- S&OP Process Leadership: Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Sales and Operations Planning process. Develop standardized procedures, tools, and templates to facilitate cross-functional collaboration, decision-making, and accountability.
- Demand Planning and Forecasting: Collaborate with sales, marketing, and finance teams to develop accurate demand forecasts based on historical data, market trends, and customer insights. Implement demand planning techniques and statistical models to improve forecast accuracy and reliability.
- Supply Planning and Capacity Management: Work closely with operations, procurement, and manufacturing teams to develop supply plans and optimize production capacity utilization. Anticipate and mitigate supply constraints, production bottlenecks, and material shortages to ensure on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Inventory Management and Optimization: Develop inventory management strategies to optimize inventory levels, minimize excess inventory, and improve inventory turns. Implement inventory segmentation techniques and safety stock policies to balance inventory investment with service levels and lead time requirements.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including sales, operations, finance, procurement, and logistics to align demand and supply plans with business goals. Facilitate regular S&OP meetings and executive reviews to review performance, resolve conflicts, and make informed decisions.
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor S&OP process performance, forecast accuracy, inventory turns, and customer service levels. Develop dashboards and reports to track progress, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Change Management and Stakeholder Engagement: Drive organizational alignment and buy-in for the S&OP process through effective change management and stakeholder engagement. Foster a culture of collaboration, transparency, and accountability to ensure successful implementation and adoption of S&OP best practices.
- Talent Development and Team Building: Build and develop a high-performing S&OP team by providing leadership, coaching, and professional development opportunities. Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement to enhance team capabilities and drive organizational success.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 9 years of experience in sales and operations planning, demand planning, supply chain management, or related roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
- Proven track record of successfully implementing and leading Sales and Operations Planning processes in a complex, multi-site environment.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis, forecasting, and scenario modeling.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- In-depth knowledge of S&OP principles, best practices, and industry trends.
- Experience with S&OP software, ERP systems, and advanced planning tools preferred.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and effectively manage competing priorities.
