We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Logistics Manager to oversee and optimize our client's logistics operations. The Logistics Manager will be responsible for coordinating and managing the movement of goods, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery. This role requires a strong understanding of supply chain management, transportation, warehousing, and inventory control. The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service and driving operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and distribution activities.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize the supply chain, minimize costs, and improve efficiency.
- Manage 3rd party warehouse providers.
- Identify and evaluate logistics vendors, negotiate contracts, and manage relationships to ensure reliable and cost-effective services.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve logistics performance, including on-time delivery, order accuracy, and inventory turnover.
- Implement and maintain logistics systems, processes, and technologies to enhance visibility, tracking, and reporting capabilities.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of logistics professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to optimize team performance.
Requirements:
- At least 3-5 years of proven work experience as a Logistics Manager or in a similar role, preferably in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- In-depth knowledge of logistics and supply chain management principles, practices, and regulations.
- Experience implementing new logistics models and externalizing warehouse operations.
- Solid knowledge of 3PL providers management.
- Proficiency in using logistics software and ERP systems.
- Experience managing a team. Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team to achieve objectives.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience in the chemicals sector and knowledge of hazardous material management.
- Fluency in English, Dutch is a plus.
