Global Procurement Excellence Manager - Hamburg, Germany (m/f/d)
One of Europe's largest metal recycling companies is actively searching for a Global Category Manager to join their team based in Hamburg. Their organisation processes complex metal concentrates, scrap metals and metal bearings, which are then transformed into new metals and used by their customers globally in a variety of different industries including automotive, e-mobility, renewable energies etc.
Responsibilities
- Review and critically appraise (feasibility, business case, usage of standard applications) procurement application requirements and IT demands
- Build close collaboration with the Procurement Excellence team and IT as an interface to develop stable technical concepts and solutions which meet procurement's requirements
- Administrate procurement (cloud) applications and make system settings with focus on business side, in close interaction with IT or third-party providers
- Assume responsibility for release management of procurement (cloud) applications including evaluation of new features and effective communication to Procurement Excellence organisation and operational procurement teams
- Take over leadership and troubleshooting regarding procurement's applications as a 2nd/3rd level support and interface to internal IT or third-party providers with the effect of stable applications and systems business operations
- Drive further continuous development, improvement and control of group wide standardised procurement applications based on the requirements of Corporate Procurement's division, particularly in exploring and unveiling recurring improvement potentials in procurement's applications and work processes
- Develop and implement a procurement system governance across the group by creating and implementing appropriate guidelines and work instructions
- Ensure knowledge transfer and conduct training's on new or changed procurement applications for Procurement Excellence, operational teams and the management of the procurement division
Qualifications Required:
- Successfully completed master's or bachelor's degree in economics, business administration, mathematics or computer science
- At least three years of professional experience in procurement / logistics or IT with a focus on system design and process consultancy
- Detailed knowledge in SAP R3 / S/4HANA and/or e-procurement/e-sourcing as well as in contracting applications
- Fluency in business English and good German language skills
- Superior communication skills, strong interpersonal and negotiation skills as well as ability to manage and interact in teams
- Excellent analytical and conceptual skills
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and to deal with several complex tasks, situations and various stakeholders at the same time
