Job Summary: As the Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing all aspects of operational activities. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the efficient and effective management of the distribution center, with a focus on safety, productivity, quality, and cost control. You will lead a team of dedicated employees and work closely with other departments to achieve our operational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership:
- Lead, motivate, and develop a team of supervisors, coordinators, and front-line staff to achieve operational excellence.
- Establish and communicate clear performance expectations and key performance indicators (KPIs) for the team.
Inventory Management:
- Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels to ensure timely order fulfillment and minimize stockouts.
- Implement and oversee inventory control procedures to reduce shrinkage and improve accuracy.
Safety Compliance:
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, procedures, and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
- Conduct regular safety training and inspections to identify and address potential hazards.
Process Improvement:
- Continuously analyze and optimize operational processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance overall performance.
- Implement lean principles and best practices to streamline workflows.
Quality Assurance:
- Implement and monitor quality control measures to ensure that products meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Investigate and resolve any quality-related issues in a timely manner.
Resource Allocation:
- Manage resource allocation, including labor, equipment, and space, to meet production and service demands.
- Budget and cost control to achieve financial objectives.
Vendor Relations:
- Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to ensure on-time deliveries and resolve any supply chain issues.
- Negotiate favorable terms and contracts when necessary.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare regular reports on key performance metrics and provide insights to senior management.
- Use data-driven analysis to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management within a distribution center or similar environment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant software. SAP preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
