Summary:
The Production Supervisor - Will be responsible for the operations of a bakery plant. Oversee related processes within the production, packaging, maintenance, quality and administrative areas.
The Plant Manager- should have the following skill set:
- Associate or bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- Fluent in English and Spanish
- 4 year college degree or equivalent experience
- Proven work experience in operations preferably in the food industry
- Proven leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proven knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources)
- Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Proficient with ERP systems and Microsoft Office
The Plant Manager - will:
- Direct and schedule leadership and support staff - including interviewing, hiring, training, planning and schedule, performance reviews, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving issues
- Ensure daily production planning is in accordance with supply chain needs
- Communicate and resolve all quality and production issues with appropriate team members
- Support quality standards, inventory accuracy and production planning schedules with a focus on reduction/avoidance of failure costs
- Develop goals and objectives for the plant along with supporting KPI's and metrics.
- Determine production capacities, output targets and appropriate measures
- Collect and analyze data to find places of Continuous Improvement reducing waste and overtime, and trigger corrective actions in a timely manner
- Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets
- Refine material and production flow and finished goods storage to optimize limited production and warehouse space
- Promote a culture of safety and ensure compliance with all safety policies, practices and procedures
- Conduct weekly staff meetings to communicate changes, updates or notifications to employees
- Review / monitor monthly operations budget and discuss budget overruns with VP Supply Chain
- Adhere to food safety policies and all government food safety and sanitation regulations (ex. FDA, HACCP, GMP, OSHA)
- Develop and execute cap-ex projects needed
