Plant Superintendent Summary:
The trusted supplier of high-tech materials, services, and specialty chemicals for the electronics, automotive and cosmetics industries is seeking a technically driven Plant Superintendent to oversee the operations in their Pennsylvania facility. The Plant Superintendent ideally will have manufacturing experience in a chemical plant.
The Plant Superintendent will have the following responsibilities:
- Implement procedures in production areas to meet safety, production, quality, cost, and delivery goals
- Ensure manufacturing activities are in line with industry best practices and standards
- Utilize LEAN methodologies to establish a continuous improvement culture in the manufacturing facility
- Establish, review, and prioritizes production schedules based on customer requirements, efficiency, and materials supply
- Work closely with the manufacturing staff and lead manufacturing activities
- Hire, train and develop the manufacturing team
- Plan and develop budgets, P&L
- Collaborates with Engineering, Materials Management, Facility Management, and Quality departments to drive company goals
- Leadership responsibility in a manufacturing setting
The Plant Superintendent will have the following skill set:
- Bachelor's degree: Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or similar field of study preferred
- 8+ years manufacturing experience
- Chemicals, oil, gas, semiconductor, or similar manufacturing experience a plus
- Experience in a manufacturing environment required
- Confirmed leadership, communication, and organizational change skills.
- Experience working with business leaders
- Solid understanding of basic chemical unit operations, including manufacturing, purification, and packaging technologies
- Knowledge of ISO quality and EH&S systems requirements
- Experience working in an SAP driven manufacturing environment
- Experience leading Continuous Improvement activities is beneficial; Six Sigma certification is a plus
- LEAN/Six Sigma certifications a plus
- Experience working in a union environment a plus
