Position Summary:
Lead a dynamic team in a lean production setting, ensuring optimal quality, safety, reliability, and productivity. Oversee compliance with food safety regulations on assigned shifts and lines.
Responsibilities:
- Foster an environment of trust, entrepreneurship, and goal achievement
- Motivate, support, and coach employees to be self-directed
- Optimize staffing levels for peak performance
- Form and lead teams to minimize equipment downtime, reduce setup time, and enhance throughputs and yield
- Implement process improvements to prevent defects and boost yields, promoting lean thinking and informed decision-making
- Drive and manage improvement projects, presenting results to production management
- Evaluate and provide feedback on employee performance, implementing progressive discipline when necessary
- Administer the collective bargaining agreement, professionally resolving labor grievances
- Ensure thorough employee training and identify additional needs
