We're seeking a Strategic Buyer to join our Procurement team, specializing in the acquisition of batteries and chargers. This role is crucial to the strategic objectives of our company, particularly in ensuring the quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness of our operations.
Job Description:
The Strategic Buyer will be responsible for driving the sourcing strategy for batteries and chargers, negotiating supplier contracts, evaluating suppliers' performance, and ensuring a steady supply of these critical components to meet our production needs.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic sourcing strategies for batteries and chargers to optimise quality, cost, and supply assurance.
- Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers, balancing cost-effectiveness with quality and service.
- Evaluate and manage supplier performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and to drive continuous improvement.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to identify sourcing needs and resolve any supply issues.
- Monitor market trends, technology advancements, and changes in regulations that may impact the supply of batteries and chargers.
- Foster strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Minimum of 5 year's experience in strategic sourcing or procurement, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated experience in sourcing and procurement of batteries and chargers or similar commodities
- Strong negotiation skills and understanding of contract terms and conditions.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with ERP systems.
- Fluent in English and German.
Working Conditions:
This is a hybrid role based in Munich, Germany, with the expectation of being on-site for certain key meetings and events. The candidate must be willing to travel occasionally to visit suppliers or other company sites.
